Our clinics
We run a range of clinics at each of our practices. For further details or to make an appointment please call us. You can also access specialised clinics and services that are part of our wider PCN.
Alcohol Support
We can provide advice, information and counselling if you are experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol misuse.
Asthma
Advice and support from our nurse who specialises in asthma care. We will arrange to see you at least once a year for a check-up.
Blood Pressure/Well person check
High blood pressure increases your risk of heart attack and stroke. We recommend that everyone over the age of 16 has their blood pressure checked at least once every 5 years. Our well person check, including blood pressure checks is available by appointment with a health care assistant. If you have a family history of blood pressure, heart attack or stroke, you may need a cholesterol and blood sugar test as well.
Blood Tests
Our health care assistants and nursing team are available to take blood samples by appointment. Understanding your blood test results here
Cervical Screening
All women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 should be invited for a smear test by letter. This aims to detect any changes in the neck of the womb which if left untreated may progress to cervical cancer. The test can be performed by one of the practice nurses. You will be sent a reminder when your next test is due. For more information about smear tests here
Child health and immunisation
All new babies are invited for regular check ups from 6 weeks old. We run clinics for new baby checks, immunisation and development checks. Immunisations are essential to protect children from serious illness and are given by the practice nurse. For more information on childhood vaccinations can be found here
Diabetes/COPD/Heart Disease
Led by our nursing team, this clinic offers advice and general health check-ups if you have been diagnosed with diabetes, COPD and heart disease
Flu Vaccinations
We recommend an annual flu vaccination for patients aged 65 and over and those with chronic heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, asthma or any other chronic illness. If you are eligible you will be invited to attend a clinic each autumn/winter.
Travel Vaccinations
If you are going abroad and require immunisations please make an appointment to see one of our practice nurses at least 8 weeks prior to your departure.
Health Checks
If you are over 75, we will invite you for a health check every year. If you are housebound, we can arrange a home visit for the health check. If you have not been to the surgery in the past three years, we will offer you a review if you ask for an appointment. If you have a learning disability we will invite you for an annual health check. If you are between 40 and 74 you are eligible for an NHS Health Check. After the check, you’ll be better prepared to look after your long-term health. When you're invited for an NHS Health Check you'll be offered a series of routine tests that will show your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. Those tests will be followed by advice and, if necessary, treatment to help reduce your risk of these diseases and maintain or improve your health.
Minor Surgery
Some minor surgical procedures can be performed by one of our doctors. You will need to see a doctor to confirm the diagnosis before making an appointment for minor surgery.
